EPT Barcelona Begins Today
Barcelona is geared up and ready to go for the European Poker Tour which begins in the Spanish city today. This is the second leg of the EPT and it will run from today, the 4th, to the 7th. The Gran Casino is hosting the event and several poker pros are expected to compete.
PokerStars is hoping that this year’s event tops last year’s event, which might be hard to do. The EPT Barcelona last year created a total of €5 million in prize money and a record field of competitors, at 619. Peter Eastgate, Daniel Negreanu and Luca Pagano are some of the confirmed pros to compete so I am sure many people will be making the trip to compete with these players as well as the many other pros in attendance.
Boris Becker, the tennis star turned poker player, will be competing as well as Vanessa Rousso and Johnny Lodden. The Main Event of the EPT stop will have a buy-in of €8,000 and most if not all of the pros in attendance will be paying up to compete for the top prize of the Tour.
