European Deepstack Poker Championships Sell out early

The European Deepstack Poker Championships in Dublin are more than a month away but tickets to the event have already sold out. Four hundred seats were available and all four hundred tickets have been purchased. The event even filled up the list of alternates, so as you can tell players are very excited about this event.

The event has a buy-in of 550 and a starting stack of 50,000 chips. With all of the seats purchased, the only way for players to earn a seat to the event is to win one at major online poker rooms. The event is set to be a good one and it is no wonder that the event sold out, especially if you consider the buy-in was brought down from 1500 to 550.

Mike Lacey the organizer of the event told Poker News:  “The deepstack does make a difference but we also changed the blind structure and times of the levels from the last events. When you combine that with the fact that the buy in is now affordable for more to buy in it makes a winning formula. Also I think players recognize that we do listen to them and are trying to create an event that is for them. Not everyone likes the massively deepstacks but the majority think it is great as this response has proven.”
