GUKPT Cardiff Won by Karl Mahrenholz
The GUKPT Cardiff main event finished up recently and Karl Mahrenholz earned the first place win. Mahrenholz is a member of the Hit Squad and with the win he became the third member of the team to win a main event of the GUKPT.
Mahrenholz joins Praz Bansi and Sunny Chattha as a winner of a main event. This time around the main event was quite small but it still saw stiff competition. 120 players entered the competition and Mahrenholz was joined by Jon Kalmar, Daniel Nutt, Iwan Jones and Andreas Hoivold at the final table.
The five handed play would last three hours and Kalmar would enter with the chip lead but would leave in fifth place. Iwan Jones went on a streak knocking out Craig Swotton and Hoivold to earn the chip lead and enter into heads up play against Mahrenholz.
Heads up play would last about an hour and Karl was able to earn the lead after slowly taking Jones chips. On the final hand Karl’s Ace-King won over Jones Ace-Queen and Karl would earn the win.
