GUKPT Main Event won by Bernard Litman
The first Grosvenor UK Poker Tour event of the New Year has ended and Bernard Litman has emerged the victor. Two hundred and thirty five players were competing for the first place prize but it was Litman who was able to outlast the field and win the £70,520 first prize.
Andreas Hoivold made the final table of the Main Event as the chip leader and was joined by James Sudworth and Litman as well. Hoivold would keep his chip lead until play was down to four players. He then would take a big hit to his chips and his luck would go downhill from there.
Hoivold would be knocked out in fourth place when Sudworth’s pocket nines held out against his ace-ten. Model Nick Holbrook was knocked out in third by Litman who took the chip lead. Litman was up 2-1 against Sudworth in heads up play.
Sudworth earned a good deal of Litman’s chips but could not come up with the win. During the final hand Litman’s pocket jacks were better than Sudworth’s pocket sevens so Litman would earn the title.
