Genting Stanley National Poker Championships Underway
The Genting Stanley National Poker Championships (GSNP), a ten-week series at 23 casinos spanning the United Kingdom, got underway Monday, January 7, 2008. The 3-festival event, taking place in Manchester, Nottingham and Southend, is in it's very early stages, but appears to be well on it's way to a sell out event.
Full Tilt Poker and online poker rooms on the Boss network are currently running qualifiers, and Playtech powered online poker rooms are expected to do the same in the near future. As the league games come to an end, near mid-March, the casinos hosting the league tournaments will begin live Super Satellites to the GSNP Championship.
Registration fees are paid up front, but buy-ins to each event are not collected until the night of the event. Buy-ins are used to develop the prize pool for individual events while the registration fees are collected to create the GSNP Championships prize pool.
