Heads Up Poker Championship Begins on NBC April 12th
Fans of NBC’s National Heads-Up Poker Championship will be glad to know that the new season will begin to air on NBC April 12th. The channel has twelve hours of footage that was filmed from the three day event. The show will air for six consecutive weeks from 12pm to 2pm ET.
The Championship took place March 6th through the 8th at Caesars Palace Poker Room in Las Vegas. Players paid the $25,000 buy-in to compete in the event. There were three ways to be able to compete in the event. Players had to get an invitation, earn a free roll seat or have poker accomplishments that meet the criteria set by the officials.
Top name poker pros such as Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson and Daniel Negreanu competed in the event as well as celebrities Brad Garrett and Don Cheadle. Full Tilt, PokerStars and Caesars Palace held qualifiers for a few seats to the event.
Players will compete for the following prizes:
1st -- $500,000
2nd -- $250,000
3rd-4th -- $125,000
5th-8th -- $75,000
9th-16th -- $25,000
