J.J. Liu Wins Venetian Deep Stack Main Event
The three day Main Event of the Venetian Deep Stack tournament has come to an end and poker pro J.J. Liu has emerged the victor. Two hundred and thirty three players paid the $2,500 buy in which created a $539,628 prize pool which Liu took a little over $167,000 home with her.
The buy-in gave players 15,000 starting chips but that could be increased to 20,000 if a $10 add on was purchased. Fighting Liu for the top finish was young poker pros Blake Cahail and Nick Sliwinski. Sliwinski made it to the final three players before he was knocked out of the competition.
Liu was then up against Ulises Roman in heads up play. Liu played well in the tough match and took the win which brought her career tournament winnings to over $2 million. This was the third largest pay day in Liu’s career behind her best cash out of $600,000 for runner up at the 2007 WPT Bay 101 and her second best cash of $362,140 for 4th at the 2005 WPT Five Diamond Main Event.
