JBet Battle of The Nations Won by Korea
The 2009 Asian Poker Tour Macau Festival saw the first ever JBet Battle Of The Nations takes place and it was the team from Korea who won the event. teams representing different nations were competing for the top prize and bragging rights for winning the inaugural event.
The Korea team consisted of Brandon Wong, David Rheem and Steve Sung. The teammates earned 106 points and won the overall team championship and received a check for $52,386 before the final table was set to begin.
Second place for the overall team championship went to the Vietnam team. team members include: Nam Le, Tommy Le and Allan Le. This team earned second for having 89 points. The top player prize went to Allan Le of Vietnam team and Nam earned second with $6,734 in earnings while Rheem won third earning $3,367.
Rheem commented: “we’re all delighted that the Korean team picked up first place and that our win was so comprehensive. Halfway through, I really thought it was going to be our day. It is always fantastic to win any poker tournament but it gives you something extra when national pride is at stake too.”
