Jason Potter Currently Leading World Poker Finals
The World Poker Finals began this past Wednesday with Day 1a and Day 1b beginning on Thursday. The event has a $10,000 buy-in and four hundred and twelve players paid up to compete. The World Poker Tour stop is being held at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino.
Jason Potter is in the chip lead after both Day 1a and 1b. Potter competed on Wednesday and finished with 183,825 chips followed by Vadim Trincher who had 163,600. Phil Ivey showed up to play on Day 1b and managed to almost catch Potter. Ivey ended the day with 183,675.
Other high profile players are in the top ten in chips. Jonathan Jaffee is in sixth with just over 140,000, Kevin Saul has 135,250 putting him in eighth and Jonathan Little is in ninth with 131,400. Others were not as lucky as they were eliminated during Day 1b.
Those eliminated early were: TJ Cloutier, Joe Sebok, Mike Vela, and Scott Seiver. Those who managed to hold out are looking forward to the end when they could possibly walk away with just over $1 million for first place. The total prize pool for this event is almost $4 million.
