LIPS Tournaments Set at The Orleans in Las Vegas
Starting this past December, The Orleans in Las Vegas hosted a tournament for the Ladies International Poker Series. The tournaments will continue to be hosted by the casino every month on the third Saturday of the month. The next tournament is set to begin this coming Saturday.
The upcoming event will see many talented ladies in attendance including Susie Isaacs. She has posted on her blog that she will be bringing a copy of her most recent book to give to the bubble player. Each tournament will begin at 11 am and have a buy-in of $175. The starting chip stack amount is $5,000.
The December event had 54 players and it took seven hours to declare a winner. It was a local player rather than a professional who finally won the tournament. Casino local, Barbara Skidmore, won the $2,600 first place prize and also a seat in the Ladies International Poker Series Championship. The Championship is set to take place July 13th at the same time as the Orleans Open.
The final table standings for the event:
1st: Barbara Skidmore - $2,610 + $330
2nd: Mary Jacot- $1,740
3rd: Linda Hammond - $1,165
4th: Estie Peiper - $855
