Marty Smyth wins Ladbrokes Poker Millions Final
Marty Smyth has had very good luck when it comes to the Ladbrokes Poker Million but has yet to win the tournament, until now. Marty is the most recent winner of $1 million in the Final of the Ladbrokes Poker Million VII.
Marty has made three Poker Million Final Tables but had yet to win the event, so it is needless to say he was excited about the win. Marty was up against Eoghan O’Dea, Ciaran O’Leary, Liam Flood all professional poker players. The two others at the final table, Kevin Allen and Svein Petter Neilsen qualified online and were given seat directly in the semifinals.
Sky Sports 3 aired the game play Friday night and viewers got to see Marty take on Eoghan O’Dea heads up play. O’Dea was not able to get past Marty for the $1 million win. O’Dea took home $260,000 for his second place finish.
Edward Irhe, the Managing Director of Ladbrokes Poker commented: This was an exciting format which promised lots of excitement. For the first time, Ladbrokes Poker gave players who were runners-up in their heat a second chance to get to the semi-finals and also ran two online super satellites, which meant the winners got to play in one of the two semi-finals. Marty Smyth could not be a more deserving winner. Until Friday night it was very much a case of always the bridesmaid, but never the bride!”
