Oktoberfest Back for Second Year on PKR

PKR has announced that they will be holding an Oktoberfest celebration for the second year in a row beginning October 17th. The tournament will feature more than a quarter of a million dollars in cash prizes and twelve events over a twelve day period.

The tournament prize pool is almost double last year’s amount which should bring in even more players than last year. The finale of the event will be a PKR Masters and Tournament of Champions. The best players of Oktoberfest will participate in the ending event and one will win a piece of $5,000 and the title of champion.

PKR plans to televise the final tables in Europe and YouTube so players who make it to the end could really create a career for themselves if they play well. Players can participate in satellites to win a seat to the event as well as possibly win a lottery for a seat.

In a press release made by PKR, the poker site stated that the events offered in this year’s Oktoberfest were “tailored to appeal to everyone with both speed and long running deep-stack tournaments included in the schedule”. This is in addition to the Terminator and bounty tournaments which are very popular.

Neil Wright, PKR card room manager, stated: “Last year’s festival was a huge success, and this year’s will be bigger and better. We are looking forward to achieving our biggest prize pool ever in the PKR Masters.” PKR will be releasing a full schedule of the tournaments along with information in the near future.
