Party Poker 36 Hour Poker Den Begins Tomorrow
The Party Poker Den is a side event that takes place in Europe while the World Series of Poker Europe is taking place. This will be the third time the Den has taken place and many are expected to attend as well as participate. The Den will begin on September 30th and continue for thirty six straight hours.
During the Party Poker Den players will put up $10,000 of their own money. Blinds are $25/$50 and stay that way the entire time. Players will be given the option to raise the stakes and select hands will be awarded an extra $1,000 as part of a “Party Pot”.
Jesse May will be hosting the event while many of the pros try their best to win. David Ulliot, Robert Williamson III, David Williams, Neil Channing, Roland de Wolfe, Andrew Feldman, Brian Townsend, Kirk Morrison, Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Bodo Sbrzesny, Chris Parker, Ian Frazer, Anthony Hardy, Jennifer Tilly, Juha Helppi, Mike Matusow, John Tabatabai and Jon Kalmar are set to attend.
Thirty six hours straight is a long time to play poker. Phil Laak has stated that he may sit at the table for the entire time period. Party Poker has taken advantage of his statement and used it as promotion. A spokesperson for Party Poker stated: “We’ve been told that Laak has spent all weekend mentally preparing for the game and that he intends to try and make television history and sit in the game for a record-breaking 36 hour stint! PartyBets was going to introduce betting on whether one of the top professionals could play the whole duration, but with other like Neil Channing also rumored to want to give it a go we are loathe to give them too much encouragement!”
