Party Poker World Open Won by Phil Laak
Seven poker players returned to the table last night to compete at the final table of the Party Poker World Open V. the event took place in Mayfair at the Palm Beach Casino and it was Phil Laak who outlasted the field to win the $250,000 first place prize.
Joining Laak at the final table was fellow poker player and Laak’s girlfriend Jennifer Tilly. Laak had to face Jan Veit in heads up play before he could earn the first place prize. Tilly was knocked out in fourth place after going up against Veit.
On the final hand Laak held A-8 against Veit’s A-4 and Laak hit an 8 on the flop to win the hand and give Laak the chip lead. Laak gained such a large chip lead that it was just a matter of time before he would claim the win.

4. Sbrzesny Bodo (Germany) – $30,000
