PartyPoker Irish Poker Championship Results
The PartyPoker Irish Poker Championships took place this past weekend with two hundred and fifty five players competing. The tournament took place in Galway at the Radisson Hotel and had a buy in of €3000. The first place winner took home a €160,000 prize.
Many high profile players were competing in the event including last year’s winner Jude Ainsworth. Mike Sexton, Marty Smyth and Kenna James were also competing.
During Day one of the tournament one hundred and thirty one players were eliminated and by day two only twenty six would be moving on to the final day. The ones left were going to cash out but still had to compete for the top prize.
When final table play began the following players would take their seat: Derek Murray, Peter Murphy, David Curtis, Krzysztof Gwvszko, Rory Liffey, David Poole, Rory Brennan, Chris Dowling and Ben Vinson.
After the table had been whittled down to the final two, it was time for heads up play. Brennan and Dowling were competing for the first place finish. It would take two and a half hours before the final hand would be played. Dowling went all in with a 9-6 off suit and was called by Brennan who at A-10. Brennan got the cards he needed on the board and took the win and the title.
