Paul Pab Foltyn Wins GUKPT Grand Final
The Grand Final of the Grosvenor U.K. Poker Tour has come and gone with a somewhat new player taking home the first place prize. Paul “Pab” Foltyn is a successful online poker player who has showed the live circuit that he is contender. Paul outlasted many professional poker pros to take down the 167,050 GBP prize.
Twenty four year old Paul played well in the GBP 3,000 buy-in event outlast the 183 other players at the felt. The number of professional poker players participating in the event was great including such players as Chris Moorman, John Duthie, Robin Keston, John Eames and Mike Ellis.
At the final table Paul was somewhere in the middle with his chip count. Erik Savanes was leading followed closely by Guy Steel and Jeff Duvall. Paul fought his way up at the final table and made it to heads up play against Jeff Duvall. With almost even chip stacks it was anybodies game.
On the final hand the board read K-8-5 on the flop which both checked. A 7 came on the turn and Duvall checked while Paul threw in a small bet. Duvall moved all in and Paul called. Duvall held 6-5 Paul had 6-4. The river was a Queen so Paul took the hand and the game becoming the newest GUKPT Grand Final Champion.
