Phil Hellmuth Hosts Raise Your Hand for Africa Charity Tournament

Celebrities, athletes and poker pros will join together this weekend to benefit the Starkey Hearing Foundation at the Raise Your Hand for Africa charity poker tournament. The inaugural tournament will take place at the Golden Nugget on Friday and Saturday, with money raised from the even going towards providing hearing aids for children in need in Africa.

Numerous famous names will be taking part of the event, including Steve Martin, Don Cheadle, and 30 NFL players. Jordin Sparks will also be playing as the Starkey Hearing Foundation Hearing Ambassador. The tournament is presented by Phil Hellmuth and World Poker Entertainment.

The main event will take place on Saturday at 1 pm. Players will begin the tournament with 2,000 chips, and can purchase an add-on and re-buys of another 2,000 chips for $500. Levels will last 15 minutes, with the blinds for the first level being 25/50.

Tournament tickets can be purchased for $2,000. Each entry package includes two passes to a VIP reception at 8 pm on Friday night, a seat in the main event on Saturday, and two passes to the post-tournament party. In addition, the main event will be televised during coverage of the Heartland Poker Tour.
