Poker Stage Show to be hosted by Paul Rodriguez
A new live stage show is set to begin this October called “The Real Deal”. The show will feature two professional poker players that will face a group of randomly selected audience members on stage. The show will be a combination of humor, improvisation, poker and audience participation. The co-executive producer of the show, Merv Adelson, announced this week that the host of the show will be comedian Paul Rodriguez.
The show will debut at the Venetian and while the pros and chosen audience members play, the rest of the audience participates by playing against the head table using handheld devices. At the end of the show the points leader from the audience will join the chip leading pro along with the last remaining amateur onstage. These players will compete in a three-handed finale to determine the winner. Players can win several prizes and maybe $1 million.
The show will take place six days a week at the Venetian Showroom in Las Vegas. Several poker pros are expected to participate in the show and with different celebrities as well. The show plans to mix up the famous participates to keep the show fresh and interesting.
Merv Adelson had this to say about the show’s new host, Paul Rodriguez: “Paul was a natural choice to be the host of “The Real Deal”! Funny, charismatic, and engaging, he knows how to connect with an audience and keep them on the edge of their seats. With more than twenty years on the comedy circuit, Paul has a huge fan base and we’re very excited to add his level of star power to our already exciting ensemble.”
