Poker Tournaments Heading to London
Over the next few weeks, a large amount of major tournament series will be taking place in London. The city will be hosting the World Series of Poker Europe and as well as the latest stop on the European Poker Tour.
Both of the events are sure to draw a large crowd of poker pros as well as online poker qualifiers. The London stop of the EPT is always popular but many poker fans have been anticipating the upcoming WSOPE and are expected to participate.
Julian Thew a British Poker pro commented in the City AM newspaper stating: “The thing about this tournament is that it really is a uniquely tough field, it’s the best of the best up against each other, without anyone else getting in the way. The huge buy-in means you get a few hundred players and the ratio of pros to amateurs is much higher, so there’s very little of what you’d call ‘dead money’.”
The event Thew is speaking of is the no-limit Texas hold’em main event which begins September 26th with a buy-in of £10,000. It will be interesting to see which pros show up to compete in the high roller event.
