Poker isn't Just for the Guys!
The Ladies Night Tournament was recently held in the US Casino, the Bicycle. The champion of the tournament was none other than the daughter of the poker legend Doyle Brunson- Pamela Brunson. However, it was not an easy victory. In day 2, Pamela had a very low chip count, but managed to double through the chip leader several times making her the chip leader. This was Pamela's first major title although she's been to the finals many times.
For her prize, Pamela is invited to play in the WPT ladies night with five other pros: Linda Johnson, Mimi Tran, Kristy Gazes, Melissa Hayden and the returning champion from last year's event, JJ Liu. The winner of Lady's Night gets a 25,000 seat to the WPT World Championship.
For the second time in a row, Susan G. Komen's foundation for breast cancer research will sponsor the event. A silent auction will be held to benefit the foundation. In addition, WPT has already given 5,000 dollars to the foundation. The 125 players will also be treated with a scrumptious buffet and pedicure if they donate.
