PokerStars Announces 2009 Caribbean Adventure Poker Tournament
PokerStars announced this week that they will be hosting a live tournament in the beautiful Bahamas. The tournament is set to take place in January on the 4th through the 10th of 2009. The Atlantis Hotel and Casino on Paradise Island will be hosting the PokerStars tournament.
The series will include a $1,000, $2,000 and $5,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em events as well as the Caribbean Adventure Main Event that has a buy-in of $10,000. A new event has been added to the adventure for next year that is a $25,000 buy-in; in the hopes that big names will be drawn in to participate.
Players on PokerStars can play in cash or Frequent Player Point qualifiers to use as a buy-in for the adventure. There will also be Steps Sit and Go satellites as well. Players can win prize packages worth $14,300 that includes the $10,000 Main Event buy in and also money for expenses, hotel accommodations.
Several members of Team PokerStars are expected to be in attendance. Chris Moneymaker, Joe Hachem, Bertrand Grospellier, Greg Raymer and Daniel Negreanu are expected to play in the tournament. So not only do players have the chance to visit a beautiful place in the world and play poker they also may get the chance to play next to a great professional in the game.
