PokerStars Announces WCOOP Schedule, Steps Satellites Running

PokerStars, the world’s largest online poker room, has announced the schedule for its most lucrative, 33-event online poker tournament – the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP). PokerStars has guaranteed no less than $30 million in the 2008 WCOOP.

Spanning 17 days of September, the 5^th through the 21^st - this year’s WCOOP schedule will offer high-stakes players plenty of opportunities to cash in at Poker Stars, including a Heads-Up Event with a $25,000 buy-in, guaranteeing a $2,000,000 prize pool; this being the highest buy-in across the 2008 WCOOP platform.

Ten of the 33 events will feature the lowest buy-in f $215, with poker variants including Texas Hold’em, 5 Card Draw, 2-7 Triple Draw, Omaha, Razz and H.O.R.S.E. Several of the 2008 WCOOP events will feature 6-max and 4-max tables, as well.

The 2008 WCOOP Main Event - $5,200 No Limit Hold’em with a $10,000,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool - is set to kick off September 21^st at 4:30 p.m. ET. (See full 2008 WCOOP Schedule of Events below.)

PokerStars started hosting Sit’n’Go Steps Satellites to the 2008 World Championship of Online Poker on July 1^st. Multi-Table Satellites will begin Sunday, July 6th, right after the PokerStars Sunday Million. Cash Qualifiers start with buy-ins as low as $2.20. Frequent Player Point (FPP) Satellites start at 100 points to enter.
