PokerStars Starts New Poker Tour in Russia
PokerStars recently announced that they will be starting a new poker tour beginning next year in Russia. This is just one more tour on the long list of tours that the poker giant provides for online poker players as well as live tournament players.
The first stop on the Russian Poker Tour will be in St. Petersburg. The event will begin on January 25th and continue until February 1st 2009. The tournament will have a $5,000 buy-in and the PokerStars website already has satellites available for players to win their seat at the event.
The second stop on the tour will be in Moscow on February 22nd to the 28th. The buy in for this tournament will be larger. Players will have to ante up $10,000 to participate.
Team PokerStars pro players Alexander Kravchenko and Ivan Demidov will be playing in the Russian Tour. Kravchenko is from Moscow and was added to the team after winning a 2007 WSOP bracelet. Demidov is also from Moscow and earned his spot after getting to the final table at both the WSOP and WSOPE Main Event.
