PokerStars Sunday Million Tournament
Sunday, PokerStars held their quarterly $1,000 buy-in version of the Sunday Million tournament. It was a huge success creating the third largest prize pool in the history of the Sunday Million event at just over $1.8 million.
The only other two Sunday Million tournaments that topped this prize pool was back in May when the promotion for the 1 billionth hand added $250,000 to the prize pool from PokerStars and then in March, when PokerStars increased the prize pool guarantee to $1.5 million to celebrate the Sunday Million anniversary.
This time the 1803 online poker players will battle for a first place prize (barring a deal) of almost $354,000. Pay outs will go to the top 270. It tool about 4 ½ hours to burst the pay out bubble and a few more to reach the final table.
Once the final table hit 6 players left Pattymelt15 tried to get a deal going and was ignored by all. A few hands later, with 5 left and short-stacked, Pattymelt15 tried again with no interest from anyone else. Unfortunately, Pattymelt15 was the 5th to leave. Tulkaz took up the cause for a deal and with only three left. Mighty L, thechemist83 and Tulkaz, a deal was struck.
As per PokerStars rules, $40,000 was left on the table and the rest was split as follows:
thechemist83: $233,152.78
Mighty_L: $213,512.75
Tulkaz: $172,145.68
After the deal action picked up and Tulkaz went packing leaving Mighty L and thechemist83 to battle it out for title and the extra $40,000. Mighty L went in with a bif chip lead and never let up taking the title and the money.
