PokerStars, the largest online poker room, is creating yet another online poker tournament series. The new tournament series is set to take place in the spring of 2009 and offer players yet another chance to earn large amounts of money online.

The name is not set in stone but the series will most likely be called the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) and will take place in the spring months. The series is still in the early stages of development and not much information has been released.

Representatives for PokerStars have let it be known that the new series would follow the same format as the World Championship of Online Poker but on a lower scale. The buy-in is believed to be set at $1,575 but is subject to change as all information has not been released.

As more details are finalized, we should learn the dates, times, how long the tournament will run for and how many events there will be, along with the other necessary information.
