Premier League III Final Table Action Begins and Winner is Named

The heats for the Premier League III have come and gone very fast with the final table now decided. J.C. Tran, Peter Eastgate, Juha Helppi and Annette Obrestad won in the last four heats that added points to their score. After all the points had been tallied it was clear that Tran, Eastgate, Helppi and Tom Dwan had made the final table.

Obrestad would have to play Roland de Wolfe in heads up play to determine who would get one of the last two seats. Tony G was up against Vicky Coren for one of the seats as well. The men outplayed the women in this round and both Tony G and de Wolfe would make the final two seats of the table.

When play began it would result in very stiff competition. Peter Eastgate was the first eliminated when he went up against Tran’s pocket aces. Eastgate took home $30,000 for his finish. Out in fifth was de Wolfe when he took his pocket Kings against Helppi’s A-Q. Roland won $40,000 for his finish.

Dwan would be the next to go when he was up against Tony G’s J-8 to his 8-6. The flop had helped Tony G and sent Dwan out in fourth with $50,000. Helppi would go next when he pushed all in with A-10 and was called by Tony G who had A-Q. Helppi went home with $80,000.

Heads up play would then begin between Tran and Tony G. During the final hand, Tran held 9-7 and Tony G had K-8. The flop read 5-7-6 with two hearts giving Tony G an open ended straight draw and Tran top pair. Both were all in and the turn or river helped neither player so Tran won with his top pair winning $300,000 while Tony G took home $150,000.
