SCOOP Event #22 High Stakes Results
The Spring Championship of Online Poker has ended and it went out with a bang. Each event had three buy-ins for players so they have the chance to compete, no matter what their bank roll. The Main Event was the last tournament to take place and the name of the game was No Limit Hold’em. The High Stakes round of the Main Event had a buy-in of $10,000 and with 502 players competing, the prize pool jumped to just over $5 million.
After day one of game play, fourteen players returned to compete for the top prize. Jonathan Delong was the chip leader coming into day two but was eliminated right before final table play began. Jon Turner held the chip lead after Delong but could not make it to heads up play. Turner was knocked out in third place.
Heads up play soon began between Niklas Heinecker and Jude Ainsworth. Ainsworth held a little over three to one chip lead over Heinecker and would not relinquish his lead. On the final hand Heinecker went all in with a pair of sixes but was eliminated after Ainsworth showed his club flush.
