Sandra Naujoks Wins EPT Dortmund
History was made this past Saturday night as Sandra Naujoks won the European Poker Tour Dortmund stop. Over six hundred players competed in the event and ponied up the 5,000 EUR buy-in. Naujoks became the second woman to win a European Poker title.
The final table began with eight players ready to fight for their piece of the 3.3million EUR prize pool. The first player to be knocked out of the competition was Cengizcan Ulusu. Ulusu was knocked out by Michael McDonald with K-K against K-2.
Next to go was William Thorson and Luca Pagano in that order. McDonald who won the event last year would go down in 5th while Johan Storakers would be knocked out in 4th place. That would leave Naujoks, Holgard Kanisch and Marc Gork to fight for the first place prize.
Gork would go down quickly and it would leave Kanisch and Naujoks to fight head to head. On the final hand Kanisch would go all in with A-Q and Naujoks would follow with A-9. Naujoks would earn two pair on the board and the first place win.
Final Results:
1 -- Sandra Naujoks -- 917,000 EUR
2 -- Holger Kanisch -- 533,000

4 -- Johan Storakers -- 237,000
