Scotty Nguyen Wins $10K Horse Event at LA Poker Classic
The first ever LA Poker Classic $10K Horse Championship has finished up after three days of intense game play. Only ninety six players entered the event and Scotty Nguyen was the last man standing and claimed the first ever title.
Other famous poker pros entered the tournament as well but were unable to beat Scotty. A few playing were: Jennifer Harmon, Howard Lederer, Erik Seidel, Mike Matusow and Gavin Smith. Scotty faced Chino Rheem in heads up play and knocked him out to claim his almost $350,000 first place prize.
The final day of play lasted for twelve hours and only those who made the final table would get paid, so the competition was fierce. Scotty commented after the event that he had told himself before the tournament that he was going to dominate.
Scotty also commented: "This was a good field to play against. But the win here and at the WSOP has got to make people consider me number one in HORSE. And to win this major event before heading into the LA Poker Classic No Limit Hold'em Championship; it motivates me, brings my game up and gives me nothing but confidence, baby!"
