Shane Warne is this year’s winner of the Poker Ashes tournament as he competed alongside his teammates on team representing Australian. The tournament was organized by 888 Poker and Warne proved his worth as a poker player.

Warne was on the Australian team with Damien Martyn, Dean Jones and Jeff Thomson while Darren Gough, Gladstone Small, Rob Key and Matthew Hoggard represented England on their team. During the final game of the Poker Ashes series, Warne faced Gough and won giving Australia an overall win of 4-1.

Bluff Europe Magazine reported that the two captains of the teams made a wager of their own before they faced each other at the felt. The losing captain would have to wear the opponent’s shirt at Lord’s for the test match. So since Warne won the match, Gough had to wear the Aussie Green and Gold colors.

Warne also competed in the WSOP Main Event and made it to the third round. He then quickly flew back home to be a commentator for this year’s Ashes competition.
