Stanislaw Kretz Leads WPT Prague Final Table

Stanislaw Kretz emerged from a busy Day 3 at the World Poker Tour Prague to take the lead heading into Monday’s final table of six players. The €3,500 buy-in event started with 571 players, making it the largest European event in the history of the World Poker Tour.

Kretz was the dominant force in the final stages of Day 3, taking his already large stack and gaining a massive chip stack as he almost singlehandedly brought the tournament down to a final table. Kretz was responsible for five of the final seven eliminations of the day, including taking out Thomas Frandsen in 8^th and Jan Bendik in 7^th to end play. Kretz will come into the final table with exactly 6.3 million in chips.

Kretz’s closest competitor is Benjamin Pollak, who has nearly 4.9 million in chips. The French pro sailed comfortably into the final table, and has a strong stack with which to take on Kretz and the rest of the table.

After Pollak, the remainder of the table is relatively short stacked. Andrey Pateychuk is in 3^rd place, with just over 2.3 million chips. Sigurd Estelad has nearly 1.6 million, good for 4^th, while Adria Balaguer has just over 1.3 million in 5^th place. The short stack is Russell Carson, who has just 725,000 in chips heading into the final day of play.

The six players will come back on Monday to battle it out for a first prize of €450,000. As with many of this year’s WPT final tables, there will be live coverage provided online, along with the edited coverage that will be televised later in the season.
