The WSOPE Main Event Has Begun
Split between three London Casinos, The Empire, the Sportsman and the Fifty, the two day 1 events will be narrowed down to day two successes and converge the remaining players on the Empire for final days of the tournament.
The main event winner will receive the pay out, and the first championship gold bracelet awarded outside of Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The perception of American Poker is on the line, with some of the greatest players in the game competing for the bracelet.
Europeans have won the first two events of the WSOPE, thus the first two bracelets, so an American needs to win the Main Event or the U.S. will be shut out of the gold for the first time ever in a WSOP competition.
Among the well known US poker representatives entered in the World Series Of Poker Europe Main Event are: 11-time WSOP bracelet-winner Phil "Poker Brat" Hellmuth Jr., 2004 WSOP Main Event winner Greg "Fossilman" Raymer, also running for VP position of the American Libertarian Party, Daniel Negreanu, Erik Seidel, WSOP Bracelet holding Annie Duke, Jen Harman, Phil Gordon, Barry Greenstein, Humberto "El Wacko" Brenes, Beth Shak, Erick Lindgren, Hoyt Corkins and Dave "Devilfish" Ulliot.
With such stiff competition the US should easily take a place in history with one of their own winning gold at the first WSOP Europe.
