WCOOP Event #20 Results
Event number 20 of the World Championship of Online Poker was a two day $1,000 No Limit Hold’em tournament. The final continued today with forty three players left out of a field of 3,467. Each player left was guaranteed a cash prize out of the $3,467,000.
Two players from Team Poker Stars managed to finish well in the money but did not make it to the final table. Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier finished in 14th and Humberto “Humberto B.” Brenes finished 16th. Six players would make it to the final table and earn six figure cash outs. When play dwindled down to five players, they cut a deal, a by the chips chop, that left $60,000 for the winner.
Mary 717, CamoJr, Mark “QuasiFiction” Hirleman, Christian “C.K.” Kruel and NYC P.I.M.P made it to the final table and arranged the chop deal. Only Mark “QuasiFiction” Hirleman and NYC P.I.M.P would make it to heads up play. Mark would go in with the chip lead while NYC was short stacked. NYC managed to take over the chip lead and take the win. Although NYC won the event and a bracelet, the amount won was only the third highest for the event. The chop standings left Mark with the highest earnings at $340,000 and Mary 717 at $288,000.
