Another Record Breaking WSOP Event!

The 38th annual WSOP saw another record breaking turn-out this week when more than 3000 poker players registered to play in the $1,500 No Limit Texas Holdem Event, making this event the biggest ever World Series of Poker preliminary tournament!


A total of 3,151 record breaking people entered the tournament, breaking a record also set this year by the first WSOP $1,500 NL Texas Holdem of the season. The original record set this year consisted of 2,998 Poker players.


At the end of the event, 324 more poker players will be able to say they cashed in a world series of poker game. Those 324 poker players whilst playing the third biggest poker in event in the history of the game will be vying for a prize pool with more than $722,914 dollars in the pot to split between them.


This years Ladies World Series of Poker Championship event which has been played at the WSOP annually since 1977 also broke a few records, including 1,286 female poker players, breaking last years record of 1,128 and another record breaking number was $1,170,260, the prize pool amount this year, not to mention the record breaking 1st place prize of $262,0277.
