Day 1 of the WSOP Extended
Jack Effel, World Series of Poker Tournament Director says
"We want to ensure that we're able to provide a comfortable experience for all players who want to enter the Main Event," the WSOP directory then goes on to say "Adding a fourth start day will allow us to do that."
Poker players who register for the WSOP NL Texas Holdem Main Event will be asked to choose a day to begin playing, 1a, 1b, 1c, or 1d, which is the equivalent of July 6th, July 7th, July 8th or July 9th. There will also be two day two's this year. 2A and 2B (July 10th and 11th).
Poker tournament play starts at 12pm each day, begin inning with opening day, July 6th. Basically this means that players will be divided up into groups, for ease and comfortability, each of the 4 groups will play their first day of poker, knocking out several opponents, and decreasing the field, after the four groups play against each other, they will be combined, and divided back into two groups.
These two groups will play their second day of poker, again decreasing the field by effectively eliminating each other, until all players are again combined, and each person then plays their 3rd day of poker, amongst the entire field.
