Event No. 3 of the WSOP Winner David Singer
The winner of Event No. 3 the $1,500 buyin Pot Limit Texas Hold'em in the World Series of Poker is David Singer from Las Vegas, he is a 41 year old poker player that has been playing professional now for seven years. Prior to his career in poker he was an attorney for a non profit agency and worked in legal cases that ultimately helped to clean Long Island Sound of pollution and other toxic materials.
This win makes it the 18th time he has cashed at the WSOP, he is also the only player that made it to the final table of the $50,000 dollar HORSE event both year's it's been played.
In an interview Singer said, "I started out this tournament not really caring much about it. I was (registered) in the other tournament ($1,500 No-Limit Hold'em) and I cashed in that one. I was running back and forth between tables at the start of this one, and obviously it worked out."
"I won a $25,000 heads-up poker tournament last week (which was worth $560,000). When we got heads-up in this event, I was expecting to run over (Fernandez). I did not know much about him. But he sure turned out to be pretty tough"
Singer had to outlast 714 other players to win the event and claim the biggest share of the $973,245 dollar prize pool. Event No. 3 is the first event of the World Series of Poker where the final table action won't be later aired on ESPN. The final table was played adjacent to the main stage where Event No. 4 playing in an overlapping time slot.
David Singer won $214,131 dollar for his first place finish and finish in second place with a cash of $136,643 dollars is Jacobo Fernandez followed by Gregory Alston in third place with $82,725 dollars. The 72 players that all cashed at Event No. 3 are below:
