Favored Players Find WSOP to be Rough Waters

The mature competition is rough this year on many of the pro's. The aspiration of Phil Hellmuth to reach his 12th bracelet this year, will not be realized, Katja Thater will not continue to make poker history this year. They are only two of the ‘favored' players not to make it past their second day.

The list of the pro's knocked out so early in the tournament play seems endless. It seems as though all the big names from Phil Levy to Annie Duke, to Jennifer Tilly, to Johnny Chen and Sam Farha are gone in their day two. The only thing in common for each of them has been the lengthy walk to the exit doors of the Amazon room.

The 2007 WSOP main event proves that it can be cruel, even to the world's poker leaders. It's an astounding list to think about.

With well over 6,300 entries, it can get difficult to follow the players you have favored watching. Adding to the difficulty, the competition has been outlasting the pros so far in what Harrah's Entertainment calls the $10,000 World Championship No Limit Hold'em Event.

Keep in mind, that even as the list of pros gone in this tournament is amazing to consider, this tournament is ever expanding. Currently this rotation is only in the middle of the day two players. There will be several more days to go, and it will be interesting to watch the armature players, and the semi pro players as the go head to head with the best in the world, and so far, win.
