Poker Writers Fairing Well
"Those who can, do; those who can't teach", and old saying, but in the world of poker, this is thought to apply to the writers. There were several who participated in this years WSOP, including legend David Sklansky, known to just about any serious No Limit Hold'em tournament player, considering he wrote the book on it. Sklansky cashed three times this year. Michael Craig, author of "The Professor, the Banker, and the Suicide King" has also cashed three times this year. This just goes to prove that writers can both write and play poker.
It takes a lot to write a book, including enough of a sense of self to endure the many critics. Poker players who also write have a little extra to conquer. If they write about strategy at the table, and it does not work, they are will be facing a lot of angry peers the next time they at a table. It is good to see that like those above, their strategy works in practice and in theory.
Giving credit where credit is due, may the poker writers continue to go strong and deep in this years WSOP main event.
