Rumor is the WSOP Final Table Could be Delayed
The final table action at this year's World Series of Poker Main Event may be broadcasted nearly live and according to rumors circulating on the internet it may be delayed by several months to accommodate television.
Under the current plan Wicked Chops Poker says that the final table would be aired on ESPN, possibly in October. According to the web site play would be halted this July once the field was whittled to the final nine players and then it would be delayed until three months later.
The idea is to make the action at the final table a big television event with plenty of lead time to give hype to the finalists and so no one would know who the winner is until the show airs the final table would have to be delayed.
"What we’re personally hearing is that the final table would not actually broadcast live but would be filmed on a closed set at a later date, then edited and broadcast about two days later", according to WickedChopsPoker.com
