Tom Schneider Wins WSOP Player Of The Year
With a slim margin of only 30 points, Schneider claimed the title as neither men succeeded in wining the event - that honor went to Erik Seidel, who didn't seem to mind as he defeated Chad Brown in heads-up action, pocketing his 1st place winnings of $538,835, not to mention his 8th WSOP bracelet.
Event #54 was the deciding factor in awarding the title, as the WSOP Main Event does not count towards Player of the Year point accumulation.
Schneider was eliminated only halfway through the event, not placing high enough to claim any winnings. Lisandro made a good run, but was knocked out in 14th place, leaving him only 30 points shy of claiming the coveted title for himself.
