WSOP Day 3, Big Names At ESPN Table
Gus Hansen, 'The Great Dane', has played phenomenally well in the WPT, earning 4 title and almost $5 million in prize money. However, he has yet to pick up a single cash in the WSOP this year, let alone a bracelet. His skills are unquestionable, with an aggressive style that should prove eventful as the day wears on.
Gavin Smith has faired a little better in this year's WSOP, picking up 2 cashes and a final table. His reputable skills brought him second place in the $1,500 Pot Limit Hold'Em event and 21st place in the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event. Over the course of his careers, Gavin has accumulated well over $3 million in cashes.
Carlos 'The Matador' Mortensen comes to the ESPN TV table as one of the most dreaded opponents in large-field tournament play. Just a few months ago, Mortensen to 1st place in the WPT, pocketing more than $3.9 million for his efforts. The competition fears him, his fans adore him, but I'm sure none experience such emotion upon sight as his banker, depositing career earnings of $8.5 million.
