WSOP Event No. 37 Winner David Benyamine
Event No. 37 of the World Series of Poker was a $10,000 buyin Omaha High-Low Split World Championship tournament that started on June 19th and finished on June 21st with a new champion. There were 235 people in the event that generated a $2,209,000 dollar prize pool.
At the event the top 27 players would cash at the tournament. This event was the largest ever Omaha High-Low Split prize pool in poker history. There was only one other event that surpassed the one million dollar mark, the $5,000 buyin championship that was held at the 2006 WSOP.
Omaha High Low Split was first introduced in 1990 at the World Series of Poker. Seven years before that in 1983 Omaha High made it's debut. In the 1980's the WSOP schedule included both Omaha-High and Pot-Limit Omaha events. But Omaha High lost interest over the years and was finally removed from the WSOP schedule in 2003.
The winner of Event No. 37 is David Benyamine, a 35 year old professional poker player from both Paris, France and Las Vegas, Nevada. He won $535,678 dollars and his first WSOP gold bracelet for the win.
