WSOP Event No. 7 Winner Matt Keikoan

Event N0. 7 of the World Series of Poker was a $2,000 buyin No Limit Hold'em tournament that got started on June 4th and played until June 6th.  This event brought in a lot of players trying for their first bracelet or maybe their first cash but only one would win a WSOP gold bracelet and the top 153 finishers would cash out. 

In all there were 1,592 players registered for the event creating a $2,897,440 dollar prize pool.  The final table of the event was played out on the ESPN stage and as play began Theo Tran was the chip leader with nearly twice as many chips as the player in second place in his possession.  But even with the lead he still finished in fourth place.

The winner of Event No. 7 is Matt Keikoan a 40 year old professional poker player from San Rafeal, California who won $550,529 dollar for his first place finish.  Finishing in second place was Shannon Shorr who was fourth in the 2006 WSOP "Player of the Year" race who got $349,142 dollars for the second place finish.
